Bezug zu Oldenburg:

Olaf Kreitsmann ist gebürtiger und überzeugter Oldenburger. Nach ‚jugendlichen Wanderjahren’ ist er mit Begeisterung wieder in Oldenburg sesshaft geworden. Er hat eine hervorragende Vernetzung in verschiedenen Bereichen von Gesellschaft, Kultur, Politik und Verwaltung

Motivation zum Projekt:

„Durch persönlichen Bezug zu vielen Künstlern und Kenntnis der momentanen Situation ist mir sehr deutlich geworden, dass die Kulturschaffenden selbst Schritte gehen müssen, die neue Wege, Formate und Aktionen eröffnen. In meiner beruflichen Tätigkeit als Lehrer im Landkreis Oldenburg habe ich oft genug erlebt, dass gerade junge Menschen eine Affinität zum Musiktheater entwickeln können, wenn man ihnen den Zugang attraktiv gestaltet. Intensive Gespräche mit Nils Braun und Nicholas Tamagna sowie Roland Hentschel haben in mir die Überzeugung verfestigt, dass die momentane Konstellation in Oldenburg - die Anwesenheit aktiver Profis (Nils Braun und Nicholas Tamagna) sowie vieler junger Künstler, die beinahe beschäftigungslos sind - eine vielversprechende Basis für ein Opernprojekt der ungewöhnlichen Art darstellen.“

From 2007 about 350 stage appearances as a supernumerary actor at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater; some small roles at the Kulturetage Oldenburg and in various film projects.

Relationship to Oldenburg:

Olaf Kreitsmann is a native and lifelong Oldenburger. After 'youthful wandering years,' he has full-heartedly settled back in Oldenburg. He has an excellent network in various areas of society, culture, politics and administration.

Motivation for the project:

"Through personal connection to many artists and knowledge of the current situation post-pandemic, it has become very clear to me that those involved in culture must take steps themselves that open up new paths, formats and actions. In my professional work as a teacher in the district of Oldenburg, I have experienced often enough that young people in particular can develop an affinity for musical theater if access is made available and attractive to them. Intensive conversations with Nils Braun and Nicholas Tamagna as well as Roland Hentschel have solidified in me the conviction that the current constellation in Oldenburg - the presence of active professionals (Nils Braun and Nicholas Tamagna) as well as many young artists who are almost unemployed - represent a promising basis for an opera project of the unusual kind."
